Student Life

Overview

Our deep hope at OCS is to see our students thrive in their gifts and talents. We desire to be a place where we live in God’s Spirit and flourish under His guidance.

We recognize that a student’s learning and discipleship goes far beyond the classroom and our goal is that each student would grow more into who God has made them to be through the student life opportunities here at OCS.

Based on student and staff interest, we offer many additional clubs and groups, such as chess, dance teams, reading programs, and student council to enhance our students’ experience.

Chapel

Every week our students participate in a chapel service. Our students lead worship, manage auto/visual needs, set up and take down chairs and participate in worshipping our God. Our teachers rotate to provide a lesson and devotional to deepen our student’s understanding of scripture and their identity in Christ.

Interested in joining us?

I started at OCS not knowing how to play an instrument, through the music lessons and OCS, I was able to grow in my love of music and worshipping with song.  I even ended up joining a band in high school to continue my passion.

Athletics

At OCS, our vision is to engage in sports as a way to glorify God. Through our athletics, we strive to honor both God and our competitors by always giving our best effort in every game. We aim to lead by example in how we show respect to coaches, referees, fans, and opponents in every competition we take part in.

In addition to recreational sports, OCS has varsity teams in:

Basketball

Cross Country

Volleyball Smash & Triple Ball

Track and Field

Soccer

Art and Music

In Genesis 1, we witness the boundless creativity of the Trinity. From the beauty and structure that shape our world to the diversity and beauty found in every sound and rhythm. On the sixth day, we were created in the image of God, our Creator. Each of us, in unique ways and according to the gifts we have been given, reflect His creative nature through art and music.

We are grateful that all of our students have the opportunity to explore their gifts in music and art in the classroom. Additionally, our students have the opportunity to be involved in special presentations.

I really like the community and the culture that OCS has, it’s just amazing to see.  When I was a kid I looked up at all these people and now I can see their pictures on the wall and the people and kids below me I just see traditions passed on through the years.

Service and Community

At OCS, service is an integral part of every student’s journey. By engaging in acts of service, students make their learning more meaningful, applying their knowledge and skills to support others, our community, and the world beyond.

Throughout each school year our students have various opportunities to serve their local, regional and global community. Some examples include:

CLEAN-A-THON

FUNDRAISING AND GIVING

CONNECTIONS WITH VIVA!
