Remote learning update June 3, 2021

Dear Parents and Students,

Yesterday the Premier announced that students will not be going back to school this academic year.  While this gives us clarity it is difficult for the students as they will not be able to spend time with their classmates and friends prior to summer vacation.  The announcement also included some vague talk about outdoor graduations.  We are working with Ottawa Public health to see what this could look like and will let you know what we can do for the week of June 21st.  As was the case last year we will be ending classes a week early.  The last day of classes will be Friday, June 18.  The staff will need the week of the 21st to gather the student belongings and organize the distribution of these.  More information will be forthcoming on the details of picking up student belongings.

I want to express my deep appreciation for the students, parents and teachers for the fine work, the tenacity and the diligence that has been required and demonstrated over the last two months.  Not only have people worked hard at school, it has taken a lot of mental energy simply to sustain interest in academics.  I hope that we will be able to look back at the last year-and-a-half and recognize that it is ultimately the Lord who has sustained us through this time.  At an institutional level this has indeed been the case.  We have seen financial gifts flow into our school at an unprecedented rate.  Our Lord has inspired this generosity and has given our supporters the wealth to share with us.  We should all recognize that we are surrounded by a larger community that has given out of love for this generation of children.

In Christ,
