In lieu of our annual Walkathon fundraiser, OCS students and families participated in the Cleanathon fundraiser on May 8 and May 15. Families joined together, but apart, to help clean-up parks and streets near where they lived so that we could abide by social distancing restrictions, have fun, contribute to our community and raise funds for the school!
This was a great opportunity to Show and Tell. Show our neighbours and neighbourhoods that we care about God’s creation. And tell them about our school and the wonderful community that we belong to.
We asked parents and students to help raise funds by asking family, friends and neighbours to sponsor their clean-up efforts. In the video below, our Principal, Paul Triemstra prayed with us before sending us out into our communities. He also shared with us how much we raised! Spoiler alert – it was more than our goal of $30,000. Thank-you so much to our sponsors! We couldn’t have done it without you.
